LRG x Outasight x Ruby Hornet x Closed Sessions
We've teamed up with Chicago based media source RubyHornet.com and record label Closed Sessions to create a new edition of the Closed Sessions series. The new sessions feature artists that match the aesthetics and style of both brands, while adding something original and authentic to the lifestyle culture of music, art, and fashion. The new series kicked off with LRG driven Hip Hop artist Outasight, and resulted in the creation of his new song “Turn It Up” as well as the new video documenting its creation.
“Turn It Up” is the perfect sound for the vibrant lifestyle of summer. Recorded at SoundScape Studio, Outasight worked with friend, inspiration, and SoundScape Studio veteran, Naledge, from hip hop group Kidz in the Hall. To complete the all-star ensemble, the single was produced by DJ Babu of the Dilated Peoples, who is also a veteran of the Closed Sessions process.
Closed Sessions is the unique record label created through a partnership between RubyHornet.com, Empresario Inc., and SoundScape Recording. Closed Sessions works with buzzing artists from across the country to create new music, as well as documentary videos providing the story behind each new song. Working with Closed Sessions is a perfect way for LRG to help expand the support for underground hip hop.
LRG, RubyHornet and Closed Sessions were introduced during the recording of Closed Sessions in Austin, Texas where the companies were working with new and upcoming artists. An immediate conversation began about a collaborative Closed Sessions project featuring certain artists supported by LRG. Both companies were excited to work together and bring new angles to the sessions.
“It is great to be recognized by a company such as LRG and add new elements to our Closed Session projects. Together we can continue to contribute to the worlds of fashion, hip hop, and urban culture,” Alex Fruchter/DJ RTC, Co-Founder of RubyHornet.com and President of Closed Sessions.
